Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah
Dear respected Brothers & Sisters,
You are obviously aware that kutbe-Dawran, Mujaddid-e-zaman, Hajrat Moulana Sheikh Luthfur Rahman Barnavi (Ra) founded JAMIA LUTFIA ANWARUL ULOOM HAMID NOGOR BORUNA MADRASHA. It has been running multifarious activities towards the mission of teaching Qur'an and Hadith for the last 80 years as a pivotal point of "Deen Islam". Classes from "Maktab" (primary) to "Dawra-e-Hadith" (Title Level) is taught here. The students of "Hifz" department are taught by highly learned and qualified Hafiz teachers. Around a hundred Hafiz-Aalim students leave each year who in turn devote themselves to serving the deen Islam at home and abroad. Besides the "Ilm-e-Deen" teachings- classes on Bangla, English, Arabic language and training courses on Technical studies,Computer, Tailoring-science, Electrical, Motor Driving. Land surveys are conducted. In Eid-ul- Adha 2007 under the instruction of Hefazothe Islam UK, Boruna Madrasha with the support of local residents conducted a most successful Qurbani distribution project, sacrificing 150 animals costing TK.50 Lak (approx.£40 thousand) and reaching as many as 12,000 beneficiaries across Chittagong, Mymansing, Dhaka, Moulvibazar and Habigonj district. At the starting of last January Hefazothe Islam UK distributed around TK.11 Lak (approx £10 thousand) worth of welfare goods. Around a further TK.10 Lak (approx.£9 thousand) in total was handed out in cash for the Sidr affected people and for reconstruction of masjid & madrasha in Bagherhat District and other Sidr affected areas where currently 55 masjid & madrashas are under reconstruction. A "free medical Centre" with currently four ambulances is run by the non-political charity "Anjuman-e-Hefazothe Islam", established by Sheikh Barnavi (RA), under the madrasha, for the poor, undone and distressed mankind. Also the "Hefazothe Islam newspaper" is now published regularly as a monthly Magazine with a new getup.
Al-Hamdulillah! The Madrasha is progressing towards developement and on it's prime mission. Around 1500 male/female students are now studying religious and modern subjects under the diligent care of currently 55 teachers and staffs. Due to increasing numbers of students there are no rooms in the classes or in the hostel. There are more than 500 students in the Hifz khana. In the near future, the Madrasha body has decided to make arrangements for food and accomodation for new five hundred more students in the Hifz khana. In the Lillah boarding of the Madrasha food and accomodation for about seven hundred students is already arranged. Also free medical treatment, books and clothes are provided to students from the Madrasha.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The "Three Dome Masjid" of Boruna Madrasha is now in decrepit and bad condition. Many cracks have developed in this very old mosque. Rain is entering into the cracks damaging and breaking away the interior walls. It has become very difficult to perform prayers in this state. This small old mosque cannot accomodate the thousands of devotees and Muridans especially in the Jum'a jamaat when namaj is offered outside in extreme heat or in the rain. To overcome this problem a five storey Masjid 13,000 sqft (129x76 foot) is under construction in the space adjacent to the Madrasha. Approximately 5000 Musalliies will be able to perform prayers at a time. The first floor of the Masjid will cost around TK. two and half Crore (approx. £130 thousand). Five floors of the Masjid will cost approximately TK.10 Crore (approx. £1million). Currently TK.2 Crore (approx. £154 thousand) has been spent on the ground floor which will facilitate for a spacious library, older persons and ladies prayer room and learning centre, wudu khana, toilets and bathrooms. There is a plan to build a Madrasha for Girls/Women separately. A further plan is to build a five storey modern building suitable for students from abroad. For Hifz khana students hostel accomadation and for Aalim students there is plan to build a five storey Academic building. The estimated cost provided by the engineer is about TK. 9 Crore (approx. £693 thousand). 210 decimals of land is required for these buildings of which 50 decimals has been purchased. To buy the remaining 160 decimals it will cost around TK. 40 lak (approx. £31thousand ). To develope the low-ditched field of the new mosque and student academic complex by earth filling it will cost about TK.50 lak (approx.£40 thousand). Insha-Allah we are willing to start the works very soon with the continued support and Du'aas of our brothers and sisters in the UK.
